My wife, duaghter 9 and I are visiting NYC in July and would love to visit an old, rustic and traditional american bar and would like your input into which is best. It doesn't have to be fancy, but should be popular with locals and have a good atmosphere. Its a bar that serves food so your daughter will be allowed in. Ear Inn on Spring Street has been around since the s. Both are great places. Fanelli's has good burgers and a little dining room in the back. I went there as a kid, I've taken my kid there. More of a restaurant than a bar, but Cowgirl in the West Village is a good place for families. Sort of has an Old West feel without being overly 'themed'. McSorelys was cool.

So essentially I thought, OK, I can open up another restaurant. It just has to be a little bit different. Try to keep myself on my toes. American Bar offered the chef an opportunity to explore a new direction of cuisine, putting her own spin on traditional dishes. There are elements of the Cafe Clover mentality in the menu: classic, decadent dishes like the spinach artichoke dip trade ricotta and parmesan in place of sour cream; fried calamari uses rice flour, transforming it into a gluten-free dish. Potato skins and caviar.

American Bar is an homage to the country's culinary classics, elevated through careful sourcing of the highest quality ingredients. Timeless Continental cuisine is paired with the sensibility, design, and community of an old-world European club, featuring a brass-rail cocktail lounge, terrazzo bar, sunshine yellow dining room, and curtained-off private dining area. Our food is unpretentious, our room is beautiful and bright, our music is fun, and our people are nice. We look forward to serving you. Even during these challenging times, many restaurants throughout New York are still ready to serve you.
Hi Infatuation reader. With restaurants around the country reopening, we understand that socializing in any form might still feel strange, and poses risks too. Should you go out to eat? If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at community theinfatuation.
